Crosbie:
This is where we are. Nestled in a wooded valley, at the end of a tree lined avenue, the location is the epitome of peace and quiet. This map shows where.

West Kilbride:
The nearby town, West Kilbride, is famous for being Scotland's Premier Arts and Crafts town. There are many galleries in the town to visit, and in the nearby area there is quad biking and clay pigeon shooting, as well as the beautiful village of Portencross and its historic Castle. For the golfing enthusiast there are many links courses nearby. West Kilbride Golf Club, founded in 1893, has a good reputation as a challenging championship standard links course where day tickets are available.

Kelburn:
As the oldest permanently inhabited castle in Scotland, Kelburn is the family seat of the Earls of Glasgow. With its beautiful grounds and famous waterfalls, the castle is open to the public during July and August. Find out more about Kelburn here.

Largs:
With inhabitation back to Neolithic times, and the scene of a famous Viking invasion, Largs is a colourfull little seaside town that was a hugely popular Victorian resort which still remains popular today.

Arran:
Steeped in history and mystery, Arran is Britain's 9th largest island. With both rugged mountains and natural wildlife it is one of Scotland's main tourist destinations.

Bute:
Occupied by man for over 5500 years, nestled into the sea lochs of Argyll and the Clyde estuary, with standing stones and ruined castles, Bute is within easy driving distance of the cottage.

Argyll:
As the heartland of the origins of Celtic Christianity, and the site of many famous rebellions, Argyll from the beautiful Mull of Kintyre to the Clyde Islands has much to offer the visitor.

Galloway Hills:
Calm tranquil lochs and mist shrouded mountains, the Galloway Hills, offer much to the walker after peace and solitude. Less than an hours drive away, the hinterlands of Ayr open out and soon reach the Galloway forest, crossed by the famous Southern Upland Way.
